Mr. Aaron Williams
Aaron Williams is a leader in the St. Louis area community development, design and construction industries, having worked in the area for 15 years. He focuses his community development work in The Ville, a historic Black neighborhood, and is co-founder and board chairman of 4theVille, a community-based cultural organization working to safeguard the legacy of The Ville and catalyze preservation through tourism, art and economic development. He also helps lead community housing developer Northside Community Housing, and the new advisory board of the neighborhood’s historic Black High School. Through his commitments, Aaron catalyzes innovative solutions for land use challenges in under-resourced communities that build coalitions between the public and private sectors. Aaron is chair of ULI St. Louis, a member of ULI’s national Public/Private Partnership product council, and recently completed a leadership position with ULI’s UrbanPlan curriculum update, which is expanding its workshops to address challenges around climate change and racial and social equity in the built environment. Understanding the importance of disrupting and rebuilding systems to empower marginalized communities like The Ville, Aaron is also a board member of Rebuilding Together St. Louis and a member of The City of St. Louis neighborhood Stabilization advisory committee. Aaron earned a degree in architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and professional certificates in project management, construction contract administration, and urban planning and zoning.
