Equity in Land Use & Leadership
July 27 – 29, 2022
Historic Union Station/Crowne Plaza, Indianapolis
Once a hospital that served those suffering from mental illness, the Central State campus is being redeveloped to create a mixed-use village. Since 2007, the area has seen more than $80 million in public, private, and non-profit investment resulting in a charter school, track and field, new roads and infrastructure, multi-family housing, single-family housing, and a new senior living facility. This walking tour will include stops at the apartments for HVAF Indiana (Helping Veterans And Families), the historic Laundry Building, the Medical History Museum, and more.
Tour leader: Jordan Ryan, The History Concierge LLC
